By a remarkable "coincidence" it seems God has appointed a son of the ruling family a Caliph on every occasion there was a vacancy. He must have "liked" Khalifa II's "objectivity" during his speech so much that he decided to reward his family with a perpetual khilafat. I could not connect to the above link.
