Women protesting in front of mosques in Europe

Submitted by Rashid Jahangiri.

On Al-Jazeera online I read news article, reporting nude/ topless women protesting in support of a Muslim Woman in Tunisia. The article mentioned one such protest took place in front of Berlin Mosque. That prompted me to think may be it was in front of LAM Mosque in Berlin as it was the oldest mosque in Germany. So I googled the news and I got link to Huffington Post article.

It is so sad that because of interpretation of Islam done by non-LAM member Muslims that Muslim women and their supporters resort to such extent to make their voices and complaints hurt. And these women blame Islam, Holy Quran, Holy Prophet Muhammad SAWS for their miseries. Another example of wrong interpretation is seen in lives of Qadianis. Qadianis to get out of miseries imposed on them by Qadiani Khalifa family resort to blaming Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad sahib for the interpretation of his teachings they received. Today the most vocal people, on Internet, who speak against HMGA are former Qadianis.

Anyways, if I were at LAM Berlin Mosque, I would have explained to nude/ topless protesting women that Islam gives women more human rights than men. I would have backed my claim by distributing among them Holy Quran translation and explanation and religion of Islam by Maulana Muhammad Ali sahib.

Following are links to Al-Jazeera news story and Huffington Post. Later have photos of protesting women. Photos 22 to 26 are in front of LAM Mosque in Berlin, Germany.

These very small groups of protestors will play right into the hands of the extremists among Muslims because the latter will claim that the only alternative to their treatment of women is that women should go around like this, and that there is no middle way which combines freedom and decency at the same time. They will claim that those Muslim women who demand their genuine Islamic rights will be led into the freedom to display themselves in this indecent manner.

  2. In regard to the Boston bombing:

I am in agreement the suspect is still at large however the case smells of a terrorist attack by an Islamic perpetuator with an agenda to bring Islam to limelight by an act of ignorance. While Islam is the religion of peace it should be clear there should no role for a lone wolf to perpetuate this dastardly deed in the name of his religious belief. Islam was meant to defend itself in war in an an organized setting as indicated in the Quran in Sarah Baqarah where it clearly states that Islam is peaceful religion allowing defensive measures to be taken when fought against aggressively. As you can see there is no role for a lone perpetuators of violence in Islam.

We agree he is a culprit in Islam as well. There is nothing in Islamic law that condones the killing of the innocent bystanders in a sporting event. Islam permits war only in extenuating circumstances where there is a possibility that Islam is threatened. This is the teaching based upon the example of prophet Mohammad's conduct in war and the teachings of the Holy Quran. There was no compulsion to change the faith of such an individual in islam as islam was offered as an alternative to death which they deserved if they did not repent their deed.

    @Omar,

I think US should put in front of firing squad, Imam of mosque that murderers of Bostonians attended. These pseudo Imams brainwash young minds to commit heinous crimes.

  5. I agree if that was actually the case. There are plenty of opportunities for the young folks of today to gain access to Islamic hate sites that propagate that Muslims have a role to play in world politics without the agency of an institution or group to back them. As I am the leader of a mosque in the USA, I am aware of miscreants who wish to portray me as an Ahmadi president of the islamic center while I am only a Muslim with an agenda to bring Islam as proposed by Maulana  Mohammad Ali as the correct viewpoint in the Muslim world.

  6. Rashid,

    assalaam alaikum,

You may wish to check out Pamella Gellar's blog page to see the role they play in bringing Jihad to limelight in the negative sense. This is her address.http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/

  7. Rashid,

Assalaam alaikum. You may also wish to check out a recent interview of Bill Maher with Professor Levine where he castigated our conduct as Muslims. While I am in agreement that most Muslims are extremist in their views regarding the conduct of the Danish cartoonist we all regard Prophet Mohammad as our savior and dislike his comments about Muslims in general as we all feel the respect of Prophet Mohammad is inviolable in the eyes of Allah and man.

MADINAH – Former Dutch Islamophobe and a former leading member of far-right Dutch politician Geert Wilders’ party Arnoud Van Doorn visited the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah to pray and say sorry for becoming part of a blasphemous film. http://www.saudigazette.com.sa/index.cfm?method=home.regcon&contentid=20130422162428

  10. Rashid, Assalaam alaikum. I will post it in my next blog. Suffice it to say it is on the link posted above on the Atlasshruggs website.

    From Zahid Aziz:

The news about Van Doorn says:

"Last month he reverted to Islam after an extensive study about the religion and the Prophet (peace be upon him)."

"Reverted" to Islam? Was he a Muslim before!

I have in the past expressed strong objection to this modern fashion and gimmick of saying that a person who becomes a Muslim "reverts" to Islam. There is no such term as "revert" or "reverting" used in the Holy Quran, nor by the Holy Prophet nor by any of his companions, for becoming a Muslim. In Hadith, many companions describe how they accepted Islam. None of them ever said, nor did anyone say about them, that they had "reverted" to Islam.

In fact, it was not until about twenty years ago that this term began to be used. As I explained in an article a few years ago, it is based on misunderstanding of what Islam says as to the natural religion of a human being at birth.

The only person who can revert to Islam is someone who was a Muslim and then left Islam.

My comment on Bill Maher blog.

I posted following comment in Bill Maher blog. I pray he gets time to read my post.

    Dear Mr. Maher,
Your documentary film ‘Religulous’ inspired a Muslim to write a book: ‘Consumer Guide to God. A Muslim Perspective. In Light of The Quran. By M. Ikram Jahangiri, M.D. With Ron Kenner, editor.’ It is available on Amazon.

On page 10 author writes, “Similarly, in the documentary film “Religulous,” Bill Maher asked objective and rational questions about the three major religions from ordinary people to religious leaders, including the Vatican priests. His interviewees, most of whom seemed devoted to their respective religions, had no satisfactory answers and seemed baffled by his interrogation. That documentary turned out to be an inspiration for writing this book.”

I would highly recommend you to read it. I am sure you will get answers to many of your questions. Most of all your understanding will improve about what Quran tells its readers and followers.

  14. This is regarding my previous comment on Mr Maher's blog

    Omar

I expect an apology for Mr Maher's comments on national television regarding the conduct of Muslims when they hear about an insult to prophet Mohammad, peace of Allah be upon him. As this is a form of anti Semitic remark that would not be tolerated by other faiths, it is condoned in this country by many individuals of the Christian and Jewish faiths. While this is contradictory, it is blasphemous to a Muslim mind that such a viewpoint is tolerated by a viewing audience such as was present on that show.
