Mirza Mahmud Ahmads father-in-law
declares Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as Mujaddid
|
Dr. Khalifa Rashid-ud-Din was a leading member of the Ahmadiyya Movement
and father-in-law of Mirza Bashir-ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad, the Qadiani Khalifa
2. He wrote an article on 24 May 1908, two days before the death of
Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, which was published in the Ahmadiyya newspaper
Badr shortly after Hazrat Mirza's death in its issue dated 11
June 1908 on the front page and page 2.

Below we translate some extracts from the article and display the image
of the original text from the newspaper Badr.
The heading of the article is notable:
Does the death of a prophet or a mujaddid invalidate
the principles on which his truthfulness is based, or can those who
believe in those principles ever die?
This heading clearly shows that the writer is discussing the laws which
apply both to prophets and to mujaddids, and is considering
Hazrat Mirza to be a mujaddid.
Within the article he writes:
“So, in the 13th century hijra when the knowledge
of the Holy Quran disappeared from the world and there remained no
heir to this light, Allah Almighty appointed a mujaddid
at the beginning of the 14th century.”
A little later he writes:
“If, till the Day of Judgment, there remains even one
person who believes that a man claimed to be the
mujaddid at the beginning of the 14th century hijra
and he was true in that claim, and moreover his claims to be the Promised
Messiah and Mahdi were true, and that person possesses writings
of Hazrat Mirza sahib and he believes in them fully and Allah
willing there will be many such persons till the Day of Judgment
then the eternal life of Hazrat Mirza sahib will stand proved.”
There is no mention whatsoever in this article
that Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad claimed to be a prophet. His claim is
given as that of mujaddid of the 14th century, Promised Messiah
and Mahdi.
Moreover, there is no mention whatsoever that
Allah will institute any khilafat in the Ahmadiyya Movement to
support it. On the contrary it is clearly stated that even after Hazrat
Mirza sahib's bodily death his teachings and the signs shown by him
will last forever among Ahmadis. He writes: "The Ahmadi Jamaat
will, Allah willing, remain till the Day of Judgment. With it Hazrat
Mirza sahib will also remain alive." There is no
mention of any Divinely-ordained khilafat after Hazrat
Mirza which will remain forever among Ahmadis! |
