‘Dictionary of Holy Quran’ authored by Maulana Abdul Manan Omar sahib is very popular among Black American Muslims belonging to Imam Warith Deen Muhammad organization. It is used in their Holy Quran teaching classes and in their Arabic Language teaching classes. In their organ ‘Muslim Journal’ a weekly section based on this dictionary is published. Recently this organization did a blog talk radio interview of Maulana Abdul Manan sahib’s son Professor Hibbatul-Manan Omar, Ph.D. (alias Khalid Omar). This interview is about life and academic works of Abdul Manan Omar sahib. Hopefully readers of this blog will find this interview informative. It is in English.

Dr. Khalid Omar in his interview mentioned Maulana Abdul Manan Omar sahib’s Islamic Scholarly works available in print form in USA. Here is more information for interest of readers.
Abdul Manan Omar sahib has compiled in Urdu Holy Quran translation and commentary based on Maulana Noor ud Din sahib lectures (dars). Holy Quran translation is complete and ready in pdf format and it will be made available on line. In addition audio recording of ten parts of Holy Quran is done and will be made available online. Urdu Commentary (tafseer) consists of five thousand pages and most of it has been type set, and is going through proof reading. It will also be made available on line. Similarly, English commentary of Holy Quran, rendered into English by him is also being type set.

Today is birthday of Holy Prophet Muhammad SAWS. On this occasion renowned Pakistani Islamic scholar Javed Ahmad Ghamdi sahib in form of Q&A gave talk on Holy Quran, its purpose and teaching. It is worth listening. It is in Urdu.
