‘The Amman Message’ endorses Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement as Muslim
Submitted by Rashid Jahangiri.
Kingdom of Jordan’s official forum ‘The Amman Message’ endorses Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement as Muslim.
This endorsement will InshAllah help in decreasing resistance and opposition faced by Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement (LAM) in propagation and defense of Islam, from Muslims, especially Mulla Muslims.
Check the official website of ‘The Amman Message’ and endorsement of LAM:

LAM as OFFICIAL SIGNATORY. See number 16:

According to Ilham of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (HMGA) sahib, Allah SWT will exonerate him from all the false accusations, whoever they may be made by.
From Lutf:
There is no mention of LAM in the message, therefore I will not presume anything.

Please see AAIIL mentioned in paragraph 1 line 3.

May I ask what was the response?

@Lutf
I guess you have not cared to read the purpose of ‘The Amman Message’.
People with Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement beliefs, i.e. Rasul Allah (saws) was the LAST messenger and HMGA was only a reformer, have become signatory to ‘The Amman Message’.
From Lutf:
Jahangiri sahib,
Although I sympathise with LAM efforts to be recognized as muslims among the other sects, I fail to see that the majority orthodox muslims will ever accept you in their fold. There will always be the enlightened, educated minority who will consider LAM as muslims. I know that many such circles which consider the AMC as muslims.
Such declarations seem ineffective and a waste of time. Unless the Salafi/Wahabi money stops pouring into madrassahs around muslim worlds, this issue will never be resolved.
From T. Ijaz:
Janangiri sahib,
The message from your community does not mention HMGA as ‘only a reformer’ as you say. In fact he isn’t mentioned at all. It gives the impression the Lahore Movement is a book publishing organization, not a spiritual community founded by a Mujaddid.
From Ikram:
The framework for creating harmony between Islam and other religions can also be applied to various schools of thought within Islam that Amman Message is trying to reach:
3:64. Say, `O people of the Scripture! let us agree to a proposition common to us both that we worship none but Allâh and that we associate no partner with Him and that some of us shall not hold others as lords besides Allâh.’ But if they turn away (refusing) say, `Bear witness that we are the only submitting ones (to one God).’
29:46. (Believers!) observe all the propriety when you argue with the people of the Scripture; but those who are bent upon behaving unjustly among them do not agree to these principles (so deal with them accordingly). And say (to them), `We believe in all that is revealed to us and in that which has been revealed to you, and our God and your God is One, and to Him we stand resigned.’
Please note that there is no mention of Muhammad PBUH in the above verses and that does not diminish the holy prophet. The same principle applies to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad in the letter by Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement referred to in above post.

From Rashid Jahangiri:
@ Lutf:
There was time when Al-Azhar University burned books of Maulana Muhammad Ali (head of LAM). Now the same university translated books of Maulana Muhammad Ali into Arabic and gave its seal of approval. Scholars of Al-Azhar University have tears in their eyes when they talk about damage Mullah-Opponents of HMGA do to propagation of Islam when they create hurdles in efforts of LAM to propagate and defend Islam. You cannot imagine know how much respect these top scholars of Al-Azhar have for elders of LAM. Couple of years ago my brother was welcomed very warmly by in charge faculty of Al-Azhar library, when he came to know my father personally knew and worked as assistant to Maulana Muhammad Ali sahib.
The Jordanian Ministry of religious affairs bought 3000 copies of the Arabic Translation of Maulana Muhammad Ali book ‘The Religion of Islam’ (done by Al-Azhar) for distribution in their universities and religious institutes.
InshAllah, as image of LAM clears, the distorted image of HMGA will also clear. And InshAllah, soon time will come when Al-Azhar will put its STAMP OF APPROVAL on HMGA’s Arabic and other books. The fact is that Al-Azhar has NO PROBLEM with HMGA and considers him a genuine Muslim, but at the moment because of ground realities i.e. MULLAH-MAFIA they are careful.
Intellectual Muslims are able to see the difference between Qadiani Jamaat and LAM, and are supporting LAM in its efforts to defend and propagate Islam.
From Tariq:
If I am not mistaken, they have already approved “The Teachings of Islam”.
From Lutf ul Islam:
Jahangiri sahib,
I myself consider Maulana Muhammad Ali (ra) to be a great scholar of Islam. Being an Ahmadi, I believe that all literary works written under the ideas of Promised Messiah (as) are being recognized, regardless of their source.
I don’t think that Al-Azhar’s seal of approval matters. In a way, I find it disrespectful of Promised Messiah (as) that his message needs some sort of approval by a human authority. They are most welcome to learn from it, but we as the followers of Promised Messiah (as) should be mindful of his status.
Wassalam.
From Zahid Aziz:
I should clarify, regarding Al-Azhar, that all they do is to certify that the contents of a book conform to Islam, and contain nothing contrary to it. They look only for any matter that is objectionable from an Islamic point of view (according to them). No Islamic literature can be published in Egypt without their clearance.
So what has happened is that Al-Azhar have looked at several of our publications, including writings of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, and certified that they contain nothing contrary to Islam. Note that Al-Azhar deal with books and not pass verdicts on authors. They (quite wisely) don’t declare individuals as being Muslim or non-Muslim. They declare books as being approved for Muslims to read (or not).
Our opponents propagate that the writings of Hazrat Mirza sahib are full of un-Islamic statements. This is a refutation of that falsehood according to a respected Muslim body.
From Roshnara Musthafa:
Is LAM still an official signatory on the Amman Message ? Why is the link being taken to a blank page?
From Zahid Aziz:
In 2009 I wrote an article about the Amman Message, which I have now uploaded here.
As you will see from it, the Lahore Ahmadiyya position, vigorously argued for more than a hundred years now, is far simpler and clearer than the Amman Message, and is based on the Holy Quran and Hadith.
From Roshnara Musthafa:
Thank you. The criticism is accurate. Amman message is part of the "Islam through scriptures" module on Edx.org. Ahmediyas are listed under sunni groups in the course material by Harvard X who is conducting it, but I did not think there were any official signatories on the actual Amman page. And the wording seemed to exclude many muslims, including the reformists, who are described as rejecting 1400 year old traditions, while a similar description is given to the extremists too!
