Article by Rashid Jahangiri
Background information:
Marhoom Abdul Manan Omar sahib son of Maulana Noor ud Din sahib, has been part of Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement (LAM) and before that he was in Qadian and later in Rabwah. In time of Qadiani Khalifa 2 Mirza Mahmud Ahmad, he held important positions in Qadian and Rabwah such as in charge Jalsa-Salana (annual gathering), in charge of Holy Quran publication in English and other European languages. He was son in-law of Maulvi Sher Ali sahib. Sher Ali sahib was translator (Mutarajam) and commentator (Mufassar) of 5 volume Holy Quran translation and commentary (published 50 years after his death by Qadiani Jamaat under the name of Qadiani Khalifa 2 Mirza Mahmud Ahmad). Abdul Manan Omar sahib was LAM representative to 1974 Pakistan National Assembly proceedings in which Ahmadis (both LAM and Qadianis) were declared non-Muslim. Abdul Manan Omar sahib testified on behalf of LAM in those proceedings. Along with his wife Mrs Amtul Rehman Omar, Abdul Manan Omar sahib rendered into English Holy Quran translation of his late father. He also authored and published dictionary of Holy Quran in English. He codified, subject wise arrangement (Tabweeb) Hadith book ‘Musnad Ahmad Bin Hambal’ in 11 volumes. It is also published. A commentary of Holy Quran in Urdu, and English is currently being type set. He authored about another 80 books that will be published as Noor Foundation (run by his sons) find time and finances. These include Holy Quran Commentary in Arabic. Life History of Holy Prophet Muhammad. Manual of Hadith (collection of Hadith on subjects such as Morality and Ethics etc). Biography of his father Maulana Noor Ud Din. And many more books.
Predecessor to current anti-HMGA website ahmedi.org was nakedahmedi.com. In year 2001, I became friend with owner of nakedahmedi website Ahmad Karim Shaikh of Mississauga, Canada. We decided to arrange an interview of Abdul Manan Omar sahib. I was instrumental in connecting Ahmad Karim Shaikh to Abdul Manan Omar sahib. Before interviewing Abdul Manan Omar sahib, on his wish, which I conveyed to Ahmad Karim Shaikh, had removed image of spider web image superimposed on photo of HMGA. Ahmad Karim Shaikh on his own volition posted the same image on photo of Qadiani Khalifa 2 Mirza Mahmud Ahmad.
Abdul Manan Omar sahib gave interview to Ahmad Karim Shaikh. Later he gave a follow-up interview in written form. Both these interviews were published on nakedahmadi. They were given and published before Ahmad Karim Shaikh for what ever reasons got cozy with Khatim-e-Nabuwat and other Mullah (mostly from Pakistan) in Canada and digressed from website real focus (that we chose after I became friend with him) from exposing wrongs in Qadiani Jamaat and providing forum for Qadianis to gather at a place where efforts could be made to correct wrong administrate policies prevailing in Qadiani Jamaat and enforced by Qadiani Khalifa 4 Mirza Tahir Ahmad, to becoming anti-HMGA website. After Ahmad Karim Shaikh changed focus of his website, my friendship with him was over in spring of 2004.
Abdul Manan Omar sahib had regrets for giving interview to a person and website who showed his true color after interviewing him. He had regrets that his interview was published on a website that publishes material against HMGA. In July 2006 I was in Delaware, where Abdul Manan Omar sahib passed away. I got message of Ahmad Karim Shaikh through Mushtaq Malik sahib of Austin, Texas that Ahmad Karim Shaikh wants to come to Janaza (funeral prayer) of Abdul Manan Omar sahib. I replied no body could stop Ahmad Karim Shaikh from offering Janaza, but just let him know that Abdul Manan Omar sahib had deep regrets for what Ahmad Karim Shaikh did on his website after publishing his (Abdul Manan Omar sahib) interviews. Anyways, Ahmad Karim Shaikh did not come for the Janaza.
