An article on the Worldwide Qadiani Population
Submitted by Rashid Jahangiri
I came across following article on website of crtics of HMGA and Qadianis (This website has not criticized LAM explicitly, as of my knowledge). The article analyzes worldwide population of Qadianis based on their annual fiancial contributions. This information is submitted to UK government office of Charities. I’m posting this article here because Qadianis tell us falsely, i.e. LAM members, about their worldwide population.
Critique My Calculation Of The Ahmadiyya [QADIANI JAMAAT] Population
by Hussain » Tue Jul 20, 2010 10:05 pm
As we know the Ahmadiyya movement is based in the UK and as a result they have to adhere to the charity commission regulations. The most recent accounts submitted for “Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat International” are for the year ended 31 December 2008. Thus I will use this to come up with a figure. Please correct my mistakes:
… …
[Removed for brevity. Please see link below for full article.]
… …
Ahmadiyya adherents worldwide: 190,228
… …
… …
Ahmadiyya adherents in the UK: 4,800
This is purely based on each household paying the compulsory Chanda Aam, nothing else. Now my request, is my logic off? Please correct me. Even if you think I have calculated this correctly do let me know. If I have made mistakes, please let me know. All I can say is…. 200 million? Purrlease! Tens of millions? Yea right!

From Mohammed Iqbal:
Why blame Q Jamat for exaggerations? Wasnt it HMGA himself who estimated the number of his followers to be no less than 400000 in his last writing? Though I admire Mirza Sahib for many things, I feel in this matter he made a gross mistake. Incidentally Ahmadies no longer obey the edict of their founder to enrol themselves as “Muslims of the Ahmadiyya sect” in national census. If they did so, may bluffs would have been called.
From Zahid Aziz:
In a khutba in 1950 (18th August, published in Al-Fazl, 5 September 1950), Mirza Mahmud Ahmad, Khalifa 2 stated:
“The truth is that, although we have never conducted a count, in our estimate the number of people in the Jama’at is approximately two hundred thousand. We cannot see more than this. It is possible that if the branches overseas are taken into account this number may reach three hundred thousand.”
Obviously he didn’t believe that 42 years before this, in 1908, there were 400,000 members of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat!
In his book Sat Bachan in 1895, Hazrat Mirza sahib writes in a footnote that the number of Muslims in the world is not 200 million as commonly believed, but 940 million. He quotes newspapers in support, and reproduces a breakdown of this population by region of the world. (RK, v. 10, p. 191).
But the Muslim population of the world passed 1000 million only recently in the late 20th century.
Is it possible that he estimated the number of his own followers as a percentage of total Muslims, believing their number to be 940 million?
Another view is that Hazrat Mirza sahib included Muslim supporters of Ahmadis in this figure of 400,000.
Another point is that when the head of a clan or village took the bai`at, his entire community was considered as having joined.
Certainly, for a Jamaat to be running several magazines, sending The Review of Religions around the world, publishing it in two languages from the beginning in 1902, building a school, to which in Hazrat Maulana Nur-ud-Din’s time some famous Muslims sent their sons, and Hazrat Mirza sahib addressing huge gatherings of followers and other admirers in Sialkot, Lahore, etc., indicates a Jamaat of a large size.
From Zahid Aziz:
In addition to my response above, please read the excellent post by Rashid Jahangiri “Why followers of HMGA have not governed Pakistan?”
There are many prominent people in Pakistan, apparently today unconnected with the Ahmadiyya Movement, whose forefathers were Ahmadis or extremely close to the Ahmadiyya Movement. Many go to some lengths to conceal or downplay this connection.
At LAM annual Jalsas before 1974, many other Muslims attended, and prominent Muslims even made speeches.
Take another situation, that in England up to mid-1960s. The largest Eid prayer gatherings, any others being insignificant in comparison, were at the Woking Mosque run by Lahore Ahmadis, with Lahore Ahmadi imams. It was the only Eid gathering reported in the press and TV in UK. I personally witnessed all this as a teenager. So it can be said that the vast majority of Muslims in UK were supporters of the Woking Mission, about which it was openly known that it was run by the LAM.
In several countries of the world there were “Muslim Associations” including all Muslims, but run and led by Lahori Ahmadis (West Indies, Indonesia, Fiji, etc). In effect, these people were our members, without being so formally. After the 1974 declaration, they either separated or took over the associations.
So if Hazrat Mirza sahib estimated that there were 400,000 people under his general influence it is not necessarily surprising.
From Rashid:
NEW QADIANI WORLD WIDE POPULATION FIGURES PER QADIANIS OFFICIAL ORGAN.
HUGE DROP FROM 200 MILLION TO 20 MILLION.
Qadiani feel NO SHAME in LYING. Given the same Pakistani Punjabi faces in overwhelming majority in every gathering they have nowhere it takes place, convinces one that their world wide population may NOT be 1 Million.
Check following links:
In July 7, 2005, Qadiani Khalifa 5 Mirza Masroor Ahmad was the head of 200 million Qadianis:

On June 4, 2012, Qadiani Khalifa 5 Mirza Masroor Ahmad is head of 20 million Qadianis:

Please also note in the same report Qadianis in their official publications AGAINST PRACTICE OF THEIR QADIANI KHALIFA 2 MIRZA MAHMUD AHMAD HAVE STOPPED calling Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement members “Paighami”, ever since one LAM members started calling Qadianis on their forum “Fuzli”.
From Rashid:
Qadiani Population in Pakistan according to NADRA: 125,681
NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) is Pakistan Goverenment department that issues Pakistan National Identity Cards.
ALL Qadianis very proudly call themselves Ahmadis and make sure they get National Identity Cards with their religion mentioned as ‘Ahmadi’. As this helps them in getting religious/political asylum in European countries and Australia. So, the statistics on Qadiani population released by NADRA has to be very accurate.
Over the years i have been saying and writing on different forums that there can not be more than 400,000 (0.4 Million) Qadianis in Pakistan.
NADRA has proved me WRONG. I accept my MISTAKE. In fact Qadiani population in Pakistan is MUCH LESS. It is ONLY 125, 681
